Christmas Morning at our house...

Daddy busy already opening things that Santa didn't get to- check!
Trash bag ready to go - check!
One excited boy - check!
A tired mommy and daddy - check!
Looks like Christmas morning to me!

I have NO idea what this was about - LOL

The real cowboy boots that he's been wanting.

Just came downstairs and is surveying all of the packages and things that Santa left.

A few random pictures from Christmas

I used my new point and shoot this Christmas for ease, but I'm bummed about the whole red eye thing going on. I need to figure out how to fix that. Anyway, here's a few snapshots from Christmas this year. I hope that everyone had a great Christmas. We sure did!

We went to church Christmas eve morning for Dawson's Christmas program and then home for some wraping and then back to church for Christmas eve service. Christmas morning we got up and did the present thing at our house and then on to mom's to spend Christmas morning with mom, dad and Marty, April and Nicolas. Then we wen't to grandmas for some yummy Christmas dinner. Lots of food, lots of fun and great memories!

Nicolas and Pop Pop

Nicolas checking out Mee Maw's mini tree with the antique ornaments
Mee Maw pushed for this image and that blue ornament shattered to the floor shortly
after this was snapped ;). Just like a true Mee Maw, she didn't care!

Nicolas and Mee Maw

Dawson working at his new art desk - love this desk!

Does this need any explanation? He's REALLY been wanting one of these.

Mom's little Santa's workshop - the mini detail is just amazing

"Rust" the cowboy. Not sure why he named himself that. He has wanted a cowboy
costume for a while now so he got it - complete with real cowboy boots and chaps
that are too short ;). I "finally" gave in and let him play with toy guns only with this
costume. Toy guns that look like real guns freak me out for some strange reason.

Giving Nicolas a smooch on Christmas morning.
This was Nicolas's very first Christmas and it was so special being able to
spend some time with him on this special holiday =).

Nicolas and Rust in front of Mee Maw's all white Christmas tree -
which Dawson is not fond of.

I just love Nicolas' chubby little foot!

Nicolas showing off his new walking skills at the great Christmas party
that Marty and April had at their house the Sat before Christmas.
What a great time. I'm sorry that Dawson was sick and couldn't make it.
Being sick at the McMillan household has become a Christmas tradition.

Church Christmas Play

Those who put the Christmas play together at church did such a great job this year. Dawson's wasn't feeling real well and missed the first song that they sang, but finally got into the swing of things. That last picture absolutely cracks me up. That wasn't an accidental capture he was trying desperately to sing into the microphone ;).

Oh Luuuuuuuuucy you have some splainin' to do!

Okay, I can come up with a million and one excuses as to why I've been such a blog slacker, but I know that you guys want action not talk so I'll see what I can do! ;)

Goodbye sweet girl

I just can't let the loss of our sweet girl go by unmentioned. On Wednesday we had to put our dear Molly to sleep. She was in the beginning stages of kidney failure and then had some kind of blood disorder (not sure if it was cancer or what the issue was) that made her fail quickly. We really wanted to keep her here, but to do that would have been so selfish on our part. IF (and that's a very big if) she pulled through at least three days of misery, she would never have had a decent quality of life and would have been back in the same boat again due to her kidneys (probably within a few months) suffering yet again. It was such a heartwrenching decision, but we just couldn't put her through that.

She has been our faithful companion for 13 years. She has been such a wonderful addition to our family, always full of spirit and personality. She could definately be a bit snobby when she didn't want to be bothered, but never rude. She was always happiest when the lovin' was on her terms. We recognize that we're blessed that everyone in our family is healthy and life could be so much worse, but losing a pet is so hard and we miss her so much.

So, I just wanted to pay tribute to our Molly. I'm ordering this picture to be hung in our home so that we can still see that sweet face every day. She will be terribly missed. Goodbye sweet girl....
