Scooter Guy

Dawson with his favorite Christmas gift. He loves this thing and today was his first time outside in the big wide open.

I need to start wearing a red scarf

So, my great grandmother said to me yesterday "Do you have a red scarf?". I said "yes". She said "Good you should wear it, you'd look much better if you wore a red scarf". That's the funniest thing I've heard in a long time. I love that silly woman! It's always fun to hear what comes out of a childs mouth or the mouth of your 96 year old grandmother ;)
.
Did it work? ;)

Mashed Potato's

Today I had a really hard time putting mashed potato's on my plate at Christmas dinner. I've always teased Alison that her plate was 2/3 mashed potato's and the rest a little of everything else. I wish that I was able to spend more time with Alison her last few years. I wish I still had more time with her. I miss Alison.

Random Thoughts today......

I love Christmas

I love my Christmas tree with ornaments that mean so much to me

I love spending time with Dawson.........really spending time with him

I love giving gifts that have meaning

Things that I really need to work on.......
being better about "planning" healthy dinners for my family
spending more time reading my bible
spending more time relaxing
spending more time with Dawson and with Jeff
spending more time with family and friends
much more but I'll save that for my new years resolutions.........that should be a long post =)

I'm thankful for.....
health - Dawson's, Jeff's, mine, and the health of family and friends
Dawson
being married
having a roof over my head and food to eat
for being able to worship God and doing so any way that I please
for the men and women who risk their life and leave their families to make that possible
for being caught up on bills - what a Christmas miracle that is!
peace that I'm feeling for the first time in a long time

I need to work on......
being more organized at home
being more organized with my business
spending more time with Dawson
cooking more.......eating less ;)
exercising
myself - physically and emotionally

I believe........
You can only run from yourself for so long until you have to stop and take a look in the mirror
that a big part of your life should be helping others (that we know, that we need to know and that we may never know)
that your children should learn to help others and to see their parents place more importance in helping others than in any material item that they ever have
that you should look people in the eye and smile at them every day - whether you know them or not - I need to work on this
that you should stop and think when you encounter a really nasty person that you have no idea what's going on in their life to cause them to be that kind of person
That children need to know what Christmas is really about and celebrate it
That children, of any age, need to feel secure, loved and encouraged every single day
That life is hard.........that life is probably hell......that there's something much more in store for us
That we have a plan and that we all should listen to God's whispers to hear what that plan is
That those who've gone to heaven should be celebrated and that their legacy should be their wonderful life and not their death.
That no one should stay in a horrible marriage "for the kids"
That living in an alcoholic home is tough
That sometimes you have to stop and spend some time with yourself
That you should celebrate the sexy beautiful person you are - big, small, tall short........no matter! You're as gorgeous as you carry yourself!
That you should never change your personality for someone else - be who you are.

Christmas Day 2005

So, this blog is my Christmas present........from me to me. A little dose of mental health. Doing this was inspired by my dear friend Moriah. I think it will be good therapy and good comic relief.

Today was Christmas day. We had a good day. We got up, Dawson opened his gifts from Santa and then my family came over to exchange gifts. We wen't to church (that was awesome to do on Christmas day) and then wen't to grandma's for dinner. We came home and Dawson and I made cookies to deliver to people tomorrow (better late than never) We also made a birthday cake for Jesus and sang Happy Birthday.
