New Again

My friend Moriah shared this song and video on her blog. I had never heard the song and certainly never seen the video. It's a beautiful song by Sara Evans and Brad Paisley called "New Again". As a mother, imagining what Mary must have gone through at the foot of that cross, is nothing short of heartwrenching. I cannot imagine having to see my son hanging and suffering on that cross and not be able to do a thing about it. It's also a great reminder this Christmas of the ultimate sacrifice and what Christmas is really all about. Christ wen't through all of this for us (believers and non believers) so that we have the opportunity to spend eternity with Him. And all that he asks for in return is for us to confess with our mouths that He is Lord and believe in our heart that God raised him from the dead - that's it! Seems like an awfully small thing to give him in return honestly. I've watched it three times and cried just as hard each time http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gh7icqR9zEY. So, I'm upstairs getting ready this morning and Dawson was downstairs watching TV. He comes running up the steps yelling "MOM, MOM" the whole way up the steps. His desperation to get to the top of the steps was as if he was being chased by something. I said "What?" with alarm in my voice, I'm sure. He said "MOM I saw this REALLY COOL truck on TV and it's ONLY available at Toys R Us". I just laughed and laughed and kissed him. He looked at me like "Are you MAD woman? Didn't you hear what I said?". Oh.......the holidays have started. Fa La La La La.......La La La La.

He's written a letter to God and stuck it in the offering box, I guess it's time to write one to Santa! =)
