Waiting on the world to change...

After catching the last half of this special on TV tonight it got me thinking. Not that I haven't pondered this before, but really why am I here? Certainly to be a mom and wife. I also think that my God given gift is photography. It's just, if one person took on one tiny little thing to make the world a better place, with all of the people in this world, just look at what a difference that would make.

There are so many things that I'd like to do, but of couse it's the old "where would the time come from/that would take away from my family time" thing. There have definately been times where there has been such a strong tug on my heart that I couldn't ignore it (like with Katrina). And also with Katrina, times where I set out to do something small to help and God said "Thank you, I'll take it from here" and turned it into something beyond my plans or physical ability.

Maybe that's it. Maybe I just need to pay more attention to what God is telling me and where my heart feels lead. The big thing lately for me is "do we have another child". Dawson's four but pretty high maintenance. He askes almost daily if he can have a brother or sister. I really don't want him to grow up an only child, but I'm 36 and Jeff's 45. I'm not one of those women who LOVED being pregnant. I love that I have Dawson but that craving to be pregnant and hold a tiny baby was never a huge deal to me.

Adoption has been on my mind alot lately, but not sure that I could convince Jeff of that. I think there's always the fear of "will I love a child that I've adopted the way that I love the son that I've given birth to". I know thata's rediculous because I know enough people who have children who are adopted or adults that were adopted and that was NEVER for a second an issue. I guess it's human nature for that to cross your mind though.

There just has to be a reason that Dawson has been so persistant. Just trying to look for the signs. Whether it pertains to a child or not, how do I make this world a better place? Something that I really need to put some thought and prayer into.

Hugs! It is so hard to look at the world and see things that need changing- and knowing how you can help make that change. I have always thought I would adopt at some point in my life. Be pryaing for you AND me to find ways to make a difference.

We want the world for our children...don't we.
I think though, here is my thinking...
God's got lifejackets on the kids for us.
Incase the boat...doesn't show up for you and I....he's got those kids we love covered!! Let me know how it goes! Prayers for you and La too!
